About Bird Park:-

The history of the Bird Park dates back from 1888 during the establishment of Lake Gardens. Initially, the Bird Park belonged to the Lake Gardens. In 1991, the Kuala Lumpur Bird Park was officially introduced. Along with Bird Park, other attractions in Lake Gardens are the Orchid and Hibiscus Gardens, Butterfly Park Kuala Lumpur, an artificial lake and the National Monument. Kuala Lumpur Bird Park is one of the top spots you shouldn’t miss as it is also the largest free-flight aviary in the world.

While strolling around the serene walkway of the park, visitors can enjoy the serene views of the birds of different sizes and colors. You will find different birds that can grab your attention with every step you take. In the park, some of the main attractions include the flamingo pond, the hornbill park, the egg incubation area, the world of parrots, and the bird gallery and education center. At the Bird Park, some of the daily activities are eagle feeding, bird shows, and hornbill feeding.

You can easily reach the Kuala Lumpur Bird Park as it is located close from the city centre. You can hop on the KTM commuter train towards the KTM Old Railway Kuala Lumpur Station. From there, the park is located only 5 minutes of distance.

Otherwise, the bus is another popular public transport here. Take the Rapid KL Bus B115 at KotaRaya Shopping Plaza till Jalan Parliamen. Stop at the main entrance if you take Grab or taxi. You can also drive towards the park but there is limited parking space.

You can stop by the large water feature and amphitheater, where bird shows are held from 12.30 PM and 3.30 PM every day. You can also feed the birds and befriend with these feathered creatures. You can spot the world’s largest Rhinoceros Hornbill species at the Hornbill Park. Well, you can get close to other birds along with hornbill.

Hornbill Park is the area which represents the true charm of tropical Malaysian rainforest. Here, you can capture some Instagram-worthy pictures to make your friends envy of you.

There are two free flight zones where you can get the glimpse to the way two different species of birds living together. Make sure not to scare the birds and be gentle to them. You will definitely not want those creatures to attack you.

It is designed well to serve over 20 species of parrots, including lories, macaws, cockatoos, and parakeets. You can find the collection of more than 50 species of beautiful oriental birds in the Oriental Birds Aviary, and a collection of flamingos at the Flamingo Pond.

You can capture the sights of these feathered friends along the tiled walkways and also take the selfies with macaws and eagles and also feed some pelicans there. You can see the flamingos and storks playing in the water, thrushes, and finches chirping and owls roosting on the barns in the landscaped greens.

At the Bird Park, you can even see feeding sessions and bird shows for hornbills, eagles, and ostriches. There is a playground to cater to the kids and there are exercise stations, jogging tracks, and rowing boats where visitors can have a great time. You can also rent binoculars. To learn more about the birdlife in the park, there is a reference center. To buy some refreshments, there is a refreshment kiosk.
