Gunung Raya is the highest peak with altitude of whopping 881m in Langkawi. It has Gunung Raya Golf Course on the base in the heart of Langkawi. It is covered with lush greens and it is capped with flora and fauna. The rainforest is stretched around 5000 hectares. You can get around Gunung Jaya peak by either trekking or driving.
It would be better if you take a taxi or rental car for Gunung Raya Mountain tour. Take the steep winding path named Jalan Gunung Raya from Jalan Ulu Melaka junction. The road passes through the dense forest to the peak and provides amazing views with easy drive. The road is not that steep but be careful as the cars might be approaching from opposite side, especially during turns. It takes up to 25 to 30 minutes to get to the peak by car from foothill. It takes around RM60 for hiring one-way taxi from Pantai Cenang.

You may also visit a watch tower which is open for public. The entry fee is RM10 per head. You can get to the top of watch tower through an elevator for 360 degree uninterrupted aerial view.
