Haw Par Villa Theme Park is one of the best draws for tourists in Singapore. This mythological theme park is located on Pasir Panjang Road and houses over 150 dioramas and 1000 statues belonged to Chinese mythology and several religions. Built by the Aw family in 1937, who invented the legendary Tiger Balm (the park was also known as Tiger Balm Garden), the park was established to serve and teach Chinese traditions. Over the years, Singaporeans became more modern. But Haw Par Villa still retains its old world charm for curious tourists.
Haw Par Villa is split into different themed sections. The 10 Courts of Hell is the most popular one. It presents a tableau of punishments and tortures for various crimes and sins committed in frightening detail, and it is reached via a dimly-lit, enclosed tunnel. You can visit the park for free on your own. You can also book our Singapore Adventure Tour Package which also consists of various attractions like Kranji War Memorial, Bright Hill Temple, Henderson Waves, and Changi War Museum.
If you are not interested in 10 Courts of Hell and its dioramas, there are still a lot of attractions in this theme park of Chinese mythology. Most of the iconic folklores are depicted here, including Madame White Snake and Journey to the West.
