Located next to Singapore Zoo and launched in 1994, Singapore Night safari is the first safari park in the world to house nocturnal animals. The wildlife park is stretched over 7 different habitats and each having its own amazing creatures.
The place remains the dark and you will take some time to set your eyes to the darkness. Once you do, you can explore around 130 species and 2500 resident creatures. Most of them are native animals, such as Malayan tapir, the endangered Asian elephant, and Malaysian tiger.
There is a 35 hectare of dense rainforest for the animals to live in. Deer and other friendly animals are left outside to roam without any interruption while aggressive animals like leopards, bears, tigers, etc. are kept in the barriers. There is a 35-minute tram ride to explore the park with commentary on wheels. It takes the visitors to seven different geographical regions of the world, i.e. from rugged foothills of Himalayas to the swampy Equatorial Africa.
For complete 20-minute insight to the animals, you can start your singapore night safari tours with Creatures of the Night Show, which opens at 7.30pm, 8.30pm and 9.30 pm every day, and till 10.30pm on weekends). You can spot bharals, mouflons, Himalayan tahrs, and markhors at the Himalayan Foothills, while going through the rugged landscaped terrain.
Also visit the Nepalese River Valley with the tram. Spot the large sambar habitat along with pelicans, golden jackals, and one-horned rhino. On the Indian Subcontinent section, you will explore striped hyena, sloth bear, Gir lion and swamp deer (barasingha). You may also go further and visit Equatorial Africa to spot lions, giraffes, and servals in landscape which looks like great savannas.
